The invention relates to a fingerprint revealer for papillary ridges containing a compound consisting of iron filings as basic product sifted in various thickness (from 0.45 mm to a clean powder) and any type of organic or inorganic pigment, either in the form of titanium, ivory black or lamp black, etc. according to the specific characteristics of the support on which the fingerprint to be revealed is located. The revealer is applied on the surface of the support using the magnetic brush and the fingerprint with its papillary ridges is clearly exposed for photographing. If it is necessary to augment the fingerprint and the papillary ridges, the fingerprint is then cleaned or combed . To this end, the iron filing basic product is applied with the magnetic brush without using any type of pigment.
