A grading tool fitting for an excavator has an L-shaped scraper blade (10) fitted under a mounting plate (16). The mounting plate is held under a support plate (20) using one tilt axis (18) and with the mounting plate hinged under the excavator fitting (24) via an orthogonal hinge axis (22). This gives the scraper blade two degrees of tilt freedom, to plane the ground under its own weight. A chain (46) limits the amount of tilt. The scraper is fitted to the end of an excavator arm.
