The present invention provides a novel family of human ion channel proteins (ICPs). The invention additionally provides for agonists, antagonists, antibodies, antisense molecules that are specific for the ICPs, and further provides genetically engineered expression vectors for the ICPs and host cel ls comprising the same. The invention further provides for processes for identifying/producing molecules that effect ICP activity that comprise the u se of the disclosed ICPs or genes encoding the same.
