The conveyor has two endless conveyor chains spaced out from each other, and a number of scratch element running transversely and also spaced out, connected to the chains by carriers. The chains are partly covered by a guide device. Both conveyor chains (5) are fully covered by guide sheets (8) at their side flanks facing the friable material.
