A telecommunication device has a housing, an optical sensor (21) integrated in the housing for scanning a medium and converting a pattern of bright and dark or various colors into digital signals, the scanner (1) being integrated in the housing, the housing being provided with a scanner window (9) in one of its outer sides, so that the housing together with the scanner can operate as a hand scanner, and a computing unit including at least a controller (4), a microprocessor (3), a ROM (5) as a carrier of a system software, and a RAM (6) as an intermediate memory for further processing and computing.
