Pressure sensor (52) located at head of train has orifices such that static pressure near atmospheric is measured. Pneumatic integrator (56) sensitive to altitude enables pressure variations within tunnel to be taken into account, and differential press sensor (54) provides output signal (S1) used to control air input (22), air output (24) and condensation (36) valves through controller (28).
