Drying arrangement for footwear or clothing, the drying arrangement having at least one heating element 12, which forms one or more drying levels 15. A shelf level plate 17, on which the shoes or clothing are placed for drying, has been fixed in the drying level. The heating element 12 is a hot water pipe, which is connected to the heating system or some other heat source by means of couplings 14a and 14b. At the shelf level plate 15a the hot water pipe is led to one or more shelf levels 15b situated below. The shelf level plates 17 are of metal, most advantageously of aluminium and they are fixed to the upper surface of the heating element. Velcro tape, which protects the surface of the shelf level plate, has been fixed to the upper surface of the shelf level plate 17. The ventilation valve 16 is covered by the end bow or in the immediate vicinity of the end bow. <IMAGE>
