Mint and/or fruit aroma compositions contain an 8-ocimenyl ester (I) of a 1-7 carbon alkanoic or alkenoic acid. Mint and/or fruit aroma compositions contain an 8-ocimenyl ester of formula (I). R<1>, R<2> = methyl in one case and vinyl in the other; R<3>, R<4> = methyl in one case and an acyloxymethyl group of formula -CH2-O-C(=O)-R<5> in the other; and R<5> = hydrogen (H) or alk(en)yl, especially 1-6 carbon (C) alkyl or 2-6 C alkenyl.
