PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the efficiency of data transfer by performing data transfer control on the basis of the driving condition of a magnetic tape recorder which includes the buildup time until an accumulation quantity of buffer data and magnetic tape recorder reach a stationary speed. SOLUTION: In a main control part 15, it is judged whether data should be written to a magnetic tape recorder 120 from a buffer 11 by using a data transfer time, a total amount of data existing in the buffer 11 at that moment, the buildup time of the magnetic recorder 120 and information stored in a storage part 14. When the condition for writing is met, the main control part 15 drives the magnetic tape recorder 120 and starts a second timer 13. When the magnetic tape recorder 120 is completely activated, the timer value of the second timer 13 is read and stored in a storage part 14. the storage part 14 holds this value and feeds it back to the writing condition. In this way, data transfer control is performed on the basis of the driving condition of the magnetic tape recorder 120.
