PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain information for evaluating the promising introduction effect by detecting at least presence/absence of a function regarding option configuration capable of being added to the present machine by inspecting a control signal, increasing and storing a count value of the function matched with the function of the present machine regarding the option configuration capable of being added which is stored in a device, thereby visibly outputting a stored counted result. SOLUTION: A differential function count processing is performed, image information obtained by reading a set document is encoded, compressed by an encoding and decoding part 8, modulated and transmitted by a modem. 10. After that, a facsimile transmission processing to cut off a line by following a post transmission procedures, a used function count processing is performed and the processing is completed. Each bit of a received digital information field is compared with present machine function information stored in a ROM 3 and a function with which the present machine is not provided, namely, a differential function is judged whether it exist on the receiving side or not by a system control part 2. When no differential function exist on the receiving side, the processing is completed as it is.
