PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the capacity of a RAM used when conducting cell searching and to speed up the cell searching. SOLUTION: In this searching method, a power threshold 12 is set for as its comparison with a correlation power detected by a correlation unit 2 and a power processing section 4, and a power memory 14 stores only the correlation power which exceeds the power threshold 12 as a result of comparison by a comparator 13 so as not to store undesired noise level correlation values to the power memory 14, thereby decreasing number of stored power values. Thus, the required capacity of the memory can be reduced, and a processing of searching the largest correlation power among correlation power values stored in the power memory 14 is conducted more speedily. |
