METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR PREHEATING AND MELTING IRON SCRAP

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce physical unit of refractory, frequency of repair and operational trouble by decreasing the ventilation resistance at the bottom part of a shaft furnace thereby decreasing the push-out resistance of scrap. SOLUTION: The preheating/melting system for iron scrap comprises a melting furnace employing an energy source of electricity or fossil fuel, and a shaft furnace having a pusher on the bottom and preheating scrap by introducing exhaust gas from the melting furnace. Productivity is enhanced by providing the shaft furnace 3 with one or more clamp unit 5 and one or more finger unit 6 thereby ensuring stabilized preheating/melting work of scrap.
