<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the relative velocity measuring accuracy to attain a stable target tracking. SOLUTION: The target detecting method transmits a radar transmit signal phase-modulated with PN codes from a diffusion encoder 10 at the transmit side, receives a signal reflected from a target at the receive side, demodulates it by the reverse diffusion, passes the reverse diffused signal through Doppler filters 22a-22j having different set center frequencies, stores center values representing the pass bands of the Doppler filters the signal passed in a memory 26 as Doppler shift values, calculates a reference relative velocity for relating, based on the center values, uses a range-reference relative velocity detector 24, and after observation for a specified time, divides the travel distance of the target by the observation time to obtain an accurate relative velocity by using a relative velocity corrector 27.</p> |
