<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for separating and recovering polyvinyl chloride and leather base material from polyvinyl chloride leathers. SOLUTION: This method comprises a step for treating polyvinyl chloride leathers with a solvent consisting mainly of a compound selected from the group consisting of water-soluble amide compounds and water-soluble lactone compounds wherein carbon atoms are respectively bound to the three binding valences of a nitrogen atom to dissolve and remove the polyvinyl chloride, a step for separating the leather base material from which the polyvinyl chloride is removed, from the solution in which the polyvinyl chloride is dissolved, and a step for thereafter, heating the solution and distilling and recovering the solvent, and a step for recovering the polyvinyl chloride as distillation residue.</p> |
