PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To evade waste of data time without performing useless data transfer even when resolutions of image data are remarkably different from each other by detecting the resolution of image data capable of being displayed by other communication equipment, converting the resolution of the received image data into the resolution of the image data capable of being displayed by other communication equipment according to detected information. SOLUTION: The resolution of the received image data is converted into display resolution of a PHS 2 and transmitted to the PHS 2. Thus, even when the resolution of data received by facsimile equipment 1 is remarkably different from the resolution of a display 3 in the PHS 2, useless data transfer is not performed from the facsimile equipment 1 to the PHS 2. In this case, data time is not uselessly consumed, and necessity for converting the resolution is eliminated in the PHS. In addition, when the PHS 2 is not provided with an image data display function, transmission of the image data is halted.
