PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To manufacture a resin-coated metal plate provided with high temperature and humidity heat resistance to endure retort sterilization and the subsequent change with elapsed time in a high temp. and humidity condition and also superior sock-resistance after the retort sterilization. SOLUTION: In a resin coated metal plate formed of a metal base and a thermoplastic polyester layer formed on the surface of the base, the thermoplastic polyester layer contains at least a modified polyester layer formed of a composition composed of a thermoplastic polyester and a phenyl resin of 0.05-25 wt.% per polyester.
