<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable electron emission of low voltage drive and high efficiency used with a carbon material having at least one of a carbon nanotube, fullerene, nanoparticle and nanocapsule. SOLUTION: In this electron emitting source, a carbon layer 103 is formed by coating a paste material of a carbon nanotube on a cathode conductor 102 formed on an insulating substrate 101. A powder of a ball-like particle 202 is dispersed on the paste carbon layer 3 and then the particle 202 is removed. Thereby, a projection having a configuration corresponding to the space between the ball-like particles 202 is formed on the carbon layer 3. Then, the electron emitting source is completed by forming a gate electrode.</p> |
