PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a cloth to be reversed without damaging the cloth and enable the corner parts of the cloth to be substantially reserved, by using a corner knife. SOLUTION: This apparatus comprises a corner knife device 10 which makes a knife part 13 which forms a pair of knives as the device is raised, pass through a cloth 1, and forms a notch 3, and a cloth reversing means 23 which reverses the cloth 1 as the corner knife device 10 descends after the notch is formed by the knife part 13. In this case, a knife escape means 19 connected to the knife part 13 is provided so that a blade 14 of the knife part 13 can escape in a location at which the blade 14 of the knife part 13 does not touch to the cloth 1, when the cloth 1 is reversed by the cloth reversing means 23. An escape action of the knife part 13 is performed by making the blade 14 of the knife part 13 adjustable. The adjusted action is performed by inclining the blade 14 of the knife part 13 in the inner direction. The knife part 13 is mounted on the upper part of a knife-supporting member 12 which reciprocates up and down. The knife-supporting member 12 is provided with a driving means 17 for making the knife part 13 escape.
