PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To ensure to perform the manual operations such as steam ejection conducted in ironing, for a steam iron used for smoothing out wrinkles of clothes and the like. SOLUTION: In this steam iron, a vaporization chamber 13 is formed in a base 11 heated by a heater 12, the upper face of the base 11 is covered with a cover 14, a handle member 16 having a grip 15 on its upside is arranged over the base 11 and a water-storage tank 17 for storing the water supplied to the vaporization chamber 13 is provided. Sliding stoppers 27 composed of a material having high friction resistance are formed on the upside of the first operation part 19, second operation part 22 and the third operation part arranged over the tank 17.
