PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent reflection of light in a pixel electrode part and to improve brightness of a display face by forming pixel electrodes having a low refractive index from an org. electrically conductive film having a specified or lower refractive index of the material. SOLUTION: Pixel electrodes 20, 21 having a low refractive index are formed from a flexible org. electrically conductive film having <1.7 refractive index of the material which is near the refractive index of a liquid crystal layer 12 or glass substrates 1, 16. An org. electrically conducive layer 20 in the lower substrate 1 side also acts as a drain electrode 8. A gate electrode 2, gate insulating layer 3, silicon layer 4, n+ silicon layer 5, passivation layer 6, passivation layer 7 and source electrode 9 together with the drain electrode 8 form a TFT. By this constitution, since the org. electrically conducive layer is used as the pixel electrode instead of ITO, the element has a little loss of light by reflection and shows improved brightness. By forming the multilayered structure for the pixel electrode to suppress reflection on the interface of the liquid crystal, the brightness of the display face can be further improved.
