PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a seal ring for effectively lubricating a contact of an end surface in an axial direction with an irrotational surface during rotation of the seal ring even under high pressure and high rotating speed. SOLUTION: This seal ring 10 can be mounted so as to be rotated with a rotating member and controls leakage at a gap 15 or the like. In this case, the seal ring 10 is provided with an inner peripheral surface 12 in a radial direction, an outer peripheral surface 14 in the opposite radial direction, and at least one end surface in an axial direction extending between the inner peripheral surface and the outer peripheral surface, and at least one end surface in the axial direction contains an element 11 for receiving and holding lubricant to lubricate between at least one end surface in the axial direction and a surface placed in opposite relation thereto during rotation of the seal ring 10 against the surface.
