PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make uniform and appropriate the compression force by composing an insulating porous film being employed in a separator of a crosslinked plastic film employing polyethylene or polypropylene as a basic material and an elastic organic material. SOLUTION: A coin type electric double layer capacitor is provided with a pair of columnar polarizing electrodes 1a, 1b contained where fibrous active carbon composing the polarizing electrodes 1a is contained in a metal case 4 while fibrous active carbon composing the polarizing electrodes 1b is contained in a metal case 5 and impregnated with organic electrolyte 3. A separator 2 is formed between the polarizing electrodes 1a, 1b and an insulating porous film being employed in the separator comprises a separator 2b a crosslinked plastic film employing polyethylene or polypropylene as a basic material and a separator 2a of elastic organic material. |
