PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a universal joint designed for simplification of structure and the reduction of manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: A universal joint 31 is composed of a pin 33 to pierce both an upper shaft 11 and a middle shaft 13, a pair of pin support synthetic resin members 35 attached to the upper shaft 11 and a stopper ring 37 to prevent the pin 33 from falling out. In the upper shaft 11, a slot 39 whose axial direction is longitudinal is formed near its end, and in the slot 39, the pin 33 is loosely fitted so as to be only longitudinally movable and a pin support member 35 is fitted at both its ends and held. Both the pin support members 35 are provided with a fitting part 43, to fit in the slot 39 and a spherical part 45 which comes into sliding contact with the inner face of the middle shaft 13. The fitting part 43 is provided with front and rear pin holding recessed parts 47, 49 which are thinned toward the axial center of the upper shaft 11. |
