<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily reflect a priority level of traffic of an upper layer on a transmission level of an ATM cell by transmitting cells of respective virtual channels to virtual path in a ratio according to a specified degree of priority when transmission requests of the cells are simultaneously generated for plural virtual channels. SOLUTION: The degree of priority of the applicable virtual channel is obtained from a table CTL 15 and the ratio of the number of ATM cells to be transmitted from a VC#0 cell BUF 16,..., VC#m cell BUFm to transmit a cell transmission request signal req#0,..., req#m is calculated by a scheduler 14. Control signals ctl#0,..., ctl#m of the applicable virtual channel are transited to an enabled state from each of the VC#0 cell BUF 16,..., VC#m cells BUFm in the order from the highest degree of priority based on a calculated result and the ATM cells to be transmitted are stored in a VP transmission BUF 10 via an MUX 13. The ATM cells are transmitted to a line in the order of storage by a VP shaving control part 11.</p> |
