PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polyalkylene terephthalate-polyamide block copolymer useful as an engineering plastic in extremely high efficiency by making the copolymer include respectively specific polyalkylene terephthalate block and polyamide block. SOLUTION: This copolymer contains (A) a polyalkylene terephthalate block having a repeating unit expressed by formula I (X is a 2-20C alkylene; (m) is 5-200) and (B) a polyamide block having a repeating unit expressed by formula II (Y is a bivalent organic group composed of a 2-20C aliphatic hydrocarbon group, an aromatic hydrocarbon group or an alicyclic hydrocarbon group; (n) is 5-200) wherein the block A is bonded to the block B through an amide bond. The block B is preferably derived from a polyamide produced by reacting a polyalkylene terephthalate resin with a diamine compound.
