PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating for forming a multicolor pattern which can form a coated film having a uniform multicolor pattern exhibiting soft feeling and heat insulating properties even by means of roller coating or brush application. SOLUTION: The title coating comprises a binder resin having incorporated therein, as its ingredients, (A) 30-200 pts. by wt. of granular colored aggregate having an average particle size of 10-500 nm, (B) 2-100 pts. by wt. of scaly colored aggregate having an average major axis of 0.1-5.0 mm and an average thickness of 10-500μm and (C) 2-100 pts. by wt. of hollow particles having an average particle size of 10-500μm, each based on 100 pts. by wt. of the binder resin. The total amount of (A), (B) and (C) is 45-350 pts. by wt.
