PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the seek speed by performing the recording of data to a disk or performing the reproducing of data from the disk, transferring a head in the radial direction of the disk and changing the current value of a motor for transferring the head inversely proportionally to the change in the detected current value of a motor for rotating the disk. SOLUTION: A current detecting element 12 and a current detecting circuit 13 detect the input current of a spindle motor driving circuit 3 and the input current corresponds to the input current of a spindle motor 2. The current detecting circuit 13 transmits current detection data corresponding to the current detected by the element 12 to a step pulse generator 27 through busses 29 and also transmits it to a stepping motor control and driving circuit 7 through busses 33. The step pulse generator 27 is constituted so as to be able to change over cycles of step pulses by responding to outputs of three steps of the circuit 13 to change passing speeds of heads 4, 5.
