PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to surely read address signals from prepits in recording and to eliminate the reading errors of signals indicating address information and recording data in reading recording signals. SOLUTION: The optical information medium has a translucent substrate 1 which allows the transmission of recording light, a recording layer 12 which is formed on this translucent substrate 1 and a reflection layer 13 which is formed on this recording layer 12 and reflects reproducing light. The medium records the optically readable signals by the recording light made incident from the translucent substrate 1. The medium has helical groove-like tracking guides 3 on the surface side of the translucent substrate 1 on which the recording layer 12 is formed. The prepits 6 indicating the address information are formed on lands 8 between these tracking guides 3. The prepits 6 are formed to be offset from the centers of the lands 8. |
