PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head support mechanism which can be displaced finely and efficiently with high precision for the tracking correction, etc., of a head. SOLUTION: Head support mechanism 100 is equipped with a head which at least reproduces data from a disk driven to rotate, a slider 2 which holds the head, a slider holding mechanism which holds the slider 2, and driving mechanisms 8 and 11 which drive the slider holding mechanism by linear displacement in the tangential direction of the rotation of the disk, and the driving mechanism 8 and 11 causes the linear displacement based upon bending substantially perpendicular to the surface of the disk and the slider holding mechanism transduces the linear displacement into oscillation displacement so that the head moves in the radial direction of the disk.
