PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce time until measurement is completed and at the same time perform accurate measurement by allowing a calibration means to calibrate a measurement unit immediately before or after measuring physical quantity regarding excreta being acquired and carried by a urine-sampling unit using a measurement unit. SOLUTION: An urine-inspecting device consists of a measurement unit 11 that is attached to a Western-style toilet and a rim-mounted urine-sampling unit 12. Excreta are acquired by the urine-sampling unit 12 and is carried to the measurement unit 11, and physical quantity regarding the excreta is measured. Since a glycosuria sensor 28 of the measurement unit 11 uses platinum for an operation electrode, sensitivity decreases due to the oxidation of the surface. Also, an enzyme film being carried by the sensor 28 is easily affected by temperature and loses activity at the lapse of time and hence output decreases. Therefore, a controller 36 reads the output of the sensor 38 into a CPU immediately before or after measurement, compares an output value with a calibration value being stored when measuring the calibration liquid, performs operation, and calibrates the sensor 28.
