PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a spectroscope for obtaining good spectral reproducibility even without complicated mechanism and even without complicated correction. SOLUTION: A diffraction grating 5 is coupled directly to an output shaft 11 of a servo motor 10 with an analog encoder having a static holding mechanism, and the motor 10 is driven by an analog encoder signal to rotate the grating 5. That is, since the grating 5 is driven directly by the motor 10 with the encoder, the grating can be stopped with good reproducibility. Accordingly, the spectroscope having good spectral reproducibility is obtained even without complicated mechanism or even without complicated correction.
