PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the cost of grinding and improve the efficiency of grinding by making good use of the grinding surface of grinding wheels coupled to a rotary shaft via a taper fit. SOLUTION: A rotary shaft 16 has an axially projecting tapered shaft portion 14, and a grinding wheel 20 has in its center a first and a second tapered bore portion 28a and 28b tapering inward from opposite side faces 26a and 26b. Fitting the tapered shaft portion 14 into the first tapered bore portion 28a puts a first and a second grinding portion 34a and 34b ready for grinding work, while fitting it into the second tapered bore portion 28b puts a third and a fourth grinding portion 34c and 34d ready for grinding work.
