摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetooptic recording and reproducing device which can easily and relatively align the light-irradiated part and magnetic head. SOLUTION: On a carriage 40 of the magnetooptic recording and reproducing device, the objective 25 of an optical pickup and the magnetic head 15 face each other across a magnetooptic disk 11. Here, the magnetic head 15 is fixed to an arm actuator 51 through an arm 43. The optical pickup converges laser light on the recording film of the magnetooptic disk 11. The magneto-resistance element of the magnetic head 15 detects the intensity of the magnetic field produced by the recording film. The arm actuator 51 moves the magnetic head 15 to the position where the magnetic field has maximum or minimum intensity.
