<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical microscope capable of displaying the separated region structure of a ferroic crystal which cannot be exhibited optically until now, by using optical higher harmonics, especially a second higher harmonic. SOLUTION: A non-linear microscopic method constructs a picture by optical higher harmonics which are to be generated by a sample when the sample is irradiated with a light beam having a specific wavelength. The picture is constructed by installing a standard plate generating especially uniform higher harmonics and by making a second optical higher harmonics which are to be generated by the plate interfere with a first optical higher harmonic which is to be generated by the sample. Moreover, amplitudes of the second higher harmonic generated by the standard plate is adjusted by revolving the standard plate.</p> |
