<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electro-optic device of extremely high definition having high transmittance by controlling the alignment state of a liquid crystal only by an electric field without using alignment films. SOLUTION: The electro-optic device 100 has liquid crystals held between a pair of substrates 1a, 1b and has the following electrode groups to control the liquid crystal molecules into a first aligned state and a second aligned state different from the first aligned state. A first driving electrode 5 is formed as a common electrode on the counter substrate 1b. Second driving electrodes 3 connected through pixel switching devices to data lines and a third driving electrode 4 common for all pixels are formed on the active matrix substrate 1a.</p> |
