PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the image recording device which can obtain an excellent image stably even if the quantity of light, the sensitivity of a recording material, etc. vary, and which has small propagation loss and is easy to manufacture and can be put to practical use. SOLUTION: The laser recording device 18 records an image by irradiation with the light beam outputted from an exposure head 14 connected to a semiconductor laser unit 10 through an optical fiber 12. In this case, an optical fiber which is sectioned having two parallel sides at least an incidence part and a projection part in a direction crossing the optical axis of the light beam is used as the optical fiber 12. The light beam projected by the projection part 13 of the optical fiber 12 is imaged by an image forming lens 30 so that the intensity distribution integrated in the horizontal scanning direction is nearly rectangular.
