PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an underground water storage tank which is relatively inexpensive and which can retain a relatively large amount of water. SOLUTION: This water storage tank is provided with a plurality of rigid pipes 14 arranged parallelly to each other and provided a plurality of holes 14a formed at the periphery, a pipe coupling means 13 mutually connecting these pipes to constitute a pipe assembly 11, and a sheet 12 provided so as to wrap the assembly. The pipe coupling means is provided with mounting holes 13a formed in the pipe, male screws 13b insertable into the mounting holes 13a, and female screws 13c. A clip fittable to both ends of mutually adjacent pipes or a resin molding fittable to the ends of a plurality of pipes disposed are applicable as the pipe coupling means. When the pipe assemblies are stacked in two stages, three stages, or four stages, and a plurality of rigid pipes are constituted of long rigid pipes and short rigid pipes, the pipe assemblies are so constituted that the upper edge and the lower edge are flush with each other.
