PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system for which it is not required to carry a different cable by communication line and a processing of connecting a personal computer to a communication terminal is easy to perform. SOLUTION: The communication system consists of an information processing unit 11 storing a communication software to which a communication PC card 13 is connectable, the communication PC card 13 that is connectable to the information processing unit 11 and that has a card side infrared ray interface section 15 which can communicate with a communication terminal 12 by using an infrared signal 18, a terminal side interface section 16 that can communicate with the communication PC card 13, and the communication terminal 12 that can communicate with a destination communication terminal via a communication line 17.
