PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the output of images and voices which are inconvenient to a user by monitoring the change of the auxiliary data added to the signals of the recorded reproduction data of different formats. SOLUTION: The reproduction data which have undergone the error correction processing are divided into the video signals, audio signals and AUX data. Then the video and audio signals are sent a video signal holding/audio signal muting ON/OFF circuit 8, and the AUX data are transferred to a microcomputer 9 and also to a comparator 7. The comparator 7 compares the mode control signals received from the computer 9 with the mode signals contained in the AUX data. If the discordance is detected from the comparison, a discordance signal is supplied from the comparator 7 to the circuit 8 which holds the video signals acquired right before the discordance of AUX data is detected and also rewrites in real time the audio signals into the forced mute signals.
