PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling an electronic camera by which a history of a series of photographed pictures is displayed during a sequence operation of the electronic camera. SOLUTION: A display device periodically receives thumbnail pictures transmitted from an electronic camera during a sequence operation and displays a history together with incidental information such as a photographing time. That is, a history picture display window W on a screen of the display device displays downloaded thumbnail pictures 40, an interval photographing elapsed time as their incidental information and a photographing time 42. The thumbnail pictures are displayed side by side from the right in the downloading order.
