Two adjustable sloping plates (10,11) feed bulbs (5) from the hopper (4) onto the vibrating plate (6). The lower plate (10) imparts a motion opposite to that imparted by the vibrating plate (T). Bulbs are deposited on the upward sloping section (12) of the profiled band (7) before entering the tube (2), around which a net (3) is bunched (8). Band speed is adjustable in relation to forward speed (V).
