SOLUTION: This thermal transfer recording material which is led by a capillary phenomenon to a transfer section having a porous structure, of which the state changes by heating, and which is transferred to a body to be transferred being confronted with the transfer section, is made to contain a coloring matter represented by a formula. In this case, in the formula, respective rings A and B may have a substitutional group, X represents COOR3, CONR4R5 or a halogen atom, and R1 to R5 each independently represent a substituted or unsubstituted alkyl group, an alkenyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted aryl group, or a cycloalkyl group. Then, the thermal transfer recording material is a liquid form recording material which generates a mist with a diameter of 20 μm or lower, and is transferred onto the body to be transferred which is arranged in a manner to be confronted with a gap of 10 to 1000 μm.
