<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a configuration of an electron emitting element realizing excellent electron emitting characteristics for a log time and to provide an electron source and an image forming device of excellent uniformity. SOLUTION: This element is constituted of a pair of element electrodes 2 and 3 opposedly formed on a substrate 1 and a conductive thin film 4 connected to the element electrodes 2 and 3 including an electron emitting part 5 having carbon as a main component. In this case, at least one part of the substrate 1 is an oxynitride glass. Here, the substrate 1 is preferably coated with the oxynitride glass having a thickness of 1μm or more on the surface.</p> |
