SOLUTION: This optical component is an m×n grating type optical waveguide having a 1st group of (m) optical waveguides which have parallel optical axes and a 2nd group of (n) optical waveguides which have parallel optical axes and cross the 1st optical waveguide group, which have a reflecting structure capable of switching light from the 1st optical waveguide group to the 2nd optical waveguide group and are characterized by that the refractive index of the cores of the 1st and 2nd optical waveguide groups is equivalent to that of glass and the inside of the reflecting structure is filled with air for reflection, have the 1st and 2nd optical waveguide groups crossing each other at 0 to 90 deg..
