PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve efficiency of an assembling work of a universal joint by regulating air pressure in a boot during the assembly of the universal joint. SOLUTION: This universal joint 1 has one end fitted in an inner part 2 and the other end fitted in an outer part 3, and further is equipped with a boot 10 to seal between the inner part 2 and the outer part 3. The boot 10 is composed of a flexible boot body 11 and an adapter 12. During fitting between the outer part 3 and the adapter 12, the inside of the boot 10 communicates with outside-air via a communicating path formed of an communicating groove 12f of the adapter 12 to maintain air pressure in the boot 10 to be the same in pressure as that of the air outside.
