PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a real number computing element whose operation speed is improved. SOLUTION: A real number computing element has significant figure output parts 32, 34, 35 and 36 obtaining a difference between the exponent values of two input values and outputting a significant figure, a first multiplexer 33 selecting a larger value in the exponent values of the two input values, an adder 38 adding the significant figure whose exponent value is small to the inverted significant figure whose exponent value from a first bit inverter 37 is large, a reading zero predication part 39 predicting the continuity of zero being the significant figure, a second bit inverter 43 processing an output value from the adder, which is digit-shifted to a left side from a left shutter 42, by complement of '2', an incrementer 44 increasing '1' to an output value from the second bit inverter and operating a significant figure value, an exponent subtracter 46 subtracting the count value to zero from the reading zero counter 40 from the output value from the first multiplexer and a decrementer 47 reducing one bit from the output signal of the exponent subtractor and outputting the exponent value. |
