PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tape cassette which can prevent an error from occurring in recording and reproduction by stabilizing the position of a hub member during tape travel and stabilizing the tape travel. SOLUTION: This tape cassette is equipped with a case body and a couple of hub members 5a and 5b which are wound with a tapelike body and stored rotatably in the case main body. Each hub member has a through hole 52 into which the rotary driving shaft 100 of a driving device is inserted from its insertion hole 54 and a plurality of spline projections 53 formed on the inner peripheral surface of the through hole, and the width of the spline projections gradually increase toward the insertion hole. The hub members, when driven to rotate, move to the side of the insertion hole and become stable at the position and are driven to rotate. The engagement projection part of the rotary driving shaft of the driving device is formed in conformity with the shape of the spline projections.
