PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To bear high-speed rotation of a rotary shaft while making a small quantity of lubricating liquid circulate spontaneously, without causing leakage of the lubricating liquid in the surroundings, and prevent a rotation side member and a fixed side member from coming into solid contact with each other with a simple structure, when the rotary shaft is started or is brought to stop. SOLUTION: In this bearing unit, a free disc 5 which is provided separately from a rotary shaft 2 and is rotatable in a direction opposite to that of the rotary shaft 2 is loosely engaged with the rotary shaft 2 and is loaded with an occluded body 16 which has absorbed lubricating liquid. The free disc 5 is rotated to forcibly supply the lubricating liquid from the occluded body 16 to an inner ring 3, that is, the rotation side member and to a bearing clearance formed between thrust plates 6a, 6b and an outer ring 4, that is, a fixed side member before the rotary shaft 2 is started or is brought to a stop. Accordingly, the rotation side member and the fixed side member can be prevented from coming into solid contact with each other, when the rotary shaft 2 is started or is brought to a stop.
