PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a collet chuck extremely excellent in practical use positioning a bar-shaped workpiece in a centered condition by simple operation only making an insertion tip end of the bar-shaped workpiece abut to a workpiece contact part by insertion arranging in a collet the bar-shaped workpiece similar as in the past. SOLUTION: In a collet chuck fixedly fastening a bar-shaped workpiece 2 insertion arranged in a movably provided collet 1, a support tapered part 3A with a chamfered tapered part 2A in an insertion tip edge of the bar-shaped workpiece 2 abutting thereto is provided in a workpiece contact part 3 in an insertion bottom part between the collets 1, and a tapered angle of this support tapered part 3A is set to an angle centering and positioning the bar-shaped workpiece 2 by surface contact of the chamfered tapered part 2A in the insertion tip edge of the bar-shaped workpiece 2 inserted in the collet 1.
