PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simplified switching device. SOLUTION: This switching device consists of a phase control means, that shifts the phase of a command signal to provide an output, and a plurality of switching means 110 connected in parallel between a power supply 101 and a load 102. Each switching means 110 is provided with a drive means 111, that outputs a drive signal in response to the command signal from a phase control means, a 1st semiconductor switch QA that is inserted to a power supply circuit which connects a power supply 101 and a load 102 and made conductive by the drive signal to close the power supply circuit, a resistor Rr1 connected to the power supply 101 to form a shunt circuit, a 2nd semiconductor switch QB that is inserted to the shunt circuit, made conductive with the drive signal to close the shunt circuit, and a drive stop means CMP1 that causes the drive means 111 to stop the output of the drive signal, when the output voltage of the 2nd semiconductor switch QB is higher than the output voltage of the 1st semiconductor switch QA.
